Come From Behind Victory

The boys started off the days to go shopping for Nationals clothes. after a late lunch, the boys headed back to the rink to get ready for their game against Afton. The game was pretty even in size and speed. We started the game skating and passing well. With 5 minutes left in the 1st, Afton scored. the boys fought hard to get it back but couldn't score within the last five minutes of the first period. After the start of the second period Afton scored again with 11:40 left in the period. The games was looking like it was over as the second period came to a close with Afton ahead 2-0. After a quick ice make, the Hawks came back out. looking ready to score a goal. With 12 minutes left in the third Michael Ellis (#17) scored to make it 2-1. He scored with a slap shot from the blue line during the power play to start the goal scoring. 4 minutes later Tyler scored off of a breakaway, tying the game up. The third goal came from Connor Crory with 2:28 left in the third. Despite Afton's best efforts, they couldn't get a goal past Ryan and the hawks came back from being down 2-0. It was very crazy to watch but was amazing! Can't wait for tomorrow's game against Arrows Hockey at 9 am tomorrow! Until then Good night!

Practice day

Today the team left for practice around noon. A majority of the dads went with the team to watch the practice. The practice went well and the boys seem confident about the games. Once the boys were back, they had barbecue and hung around their rooms the rest of the night. Everyone is very ready for the game tomorrow! Lets go Hawks!!

New York City

We headed out early this morning (4:30 am Colorado time) for the Big Apple. we drove past Central Park and down 5th Ave. then headed for the pier. From there we took a 75 minute ferry ride past Ellis Island and The statue of Liberty. After our cruise, we headed for Chinatown and Little Italy. Chinatown consisted of some great bargain shopping, Rolexes,Ray-bans, and even some G-strings (Yikes!). We had a delicious lunch in little Italy, and afterwards the boys walked to wall street to rub the lucky bull. We then toured the 9-11 memorial, which was beautiful and somber all at the same. We headed for the subway and after slight difficulty we all got onto the subway and made it safely to Times Square. After a quick walk through times square, we headed for the NHL store off of Times Square. After a quick TV appearance on NHL live, and an hour Times Square after dark with all the signs lit up. Then it was time to get back on the bus and head back to Hartford. We got back to the hotel around 11pm and then it was off to bed! more adventures to come tomorrow! Good night! :)

We've arrived, Safe and Sound

Our flight landed at about 2:55 Eastern time zone today. All the bags made it, and the bus was there waiting after we got our bags. After the bus was loaded the boys headed for Hartford, and stopped for food on the way. Everyone arrived safe at the hotel and is ready for NYC Bright and Early tomorrow morning!! :)
