52-5-1
That was the ending record of the 2012-2013 Littleton Hawks Midget Major AA team. If you sit back and think about it, that's pretty impressive. Think about all the goals, the passes, the saves, and the teamwork it takes to win 52 games. The boys had some pretty impressive wins, including a AAA tournament Championship in Boston at Labor day. That was the first championship win as a team, as well as the first games the team played, just a few weeks after tryouts. But their success didn't stop there. The boys proceeded to win the Silver Stick regional tournament, advancing them to the Championships in Sarnia. They won the CAHA championship, making them the state champions and advancing them to The National Championships in Hartford. The team was success in Hartford as well, going 3-0 in pool play and advancing as the first seed to the quarterfinals. The boys fought hard but in the end they couldn't get any past the Wonderland Wizards. It was a tough loss but the boys shouldn't be upset. I know what they were aiming for, and I know this is not the outcome they desired, but they have achieved so much in this season. I believe those 52 wins speak for themselves. The boys were successful off the ice as well. The boys bonded and became a family. They had each others' backs all the time, on and off the ice.
Our team consisted of five '94s this year, making it their last year of eligibility for midget hockey. Each '94 brought his own touch to the game. Ryan Seltenreich (#1) was a solid goaltender, helping to achieve such a successful season. He came up with some big wins when the team needed them the most. Joey Frydenlund (#3) was a pivotal defenseman for this team. He made it harder for every goal to be scored against our goalies. He played through year long injuries and maintained a high level of play the whole time. Josh Hart (#8) is known for his incredible slap shot and his passion for the game. He skated hard every shift and never gave up. Jimmy Morgan (#12) was our Captain this year. He played the leadership role this year for the team. Jimmy was our leader in points this year 17 goals and 10 assists. Mitch Frydenlund (#21) has the best hands in the league. Mitch is the ultimate playmaker and is a leader with 14 assists. each of these boys was a captain or assistant captain. They represented their teammates, and they will all be missed next year. Just remember boys, once a hawk, always a hawk. Good luck with all your future endeavors!
